Got through to immigration and stopped there after waiting a couple hours. Someone did not have the right paperwork (not of my control) and ended up going back to office.
I did have hummus and OJ with a colleague near the office which was good.
Then the people worked and we went back to airport but the documents had not arrived. Finally did and made it the rest of the way generally without issue.
There is more to it but long long day.
From what everyone says, that's just Angola.
Lots of women walk around with goods on their head
I feel safer. Not too much to worry about here however and people are very nice.
The ride to Cabinda. Cabinda is the city we fly to, then drive an hour to malongo camp where the operations are for rigs, refining, transport, processing workers and product. Truly a working camp.
A lot of what you see here. Many slums but it is an ever changing country for the better.
Glad you made it to Malongo.
ReplyDeleteBy the end of this assignment, I expect you to learn how to carry goods on your head. That's pretty impressive.

Living aboard Saline must now look quite luxurious.
ReplyDeleteMikee! So nice to see your adventure come to a start! Wow, lots of things done already eh. Good for you buddy! You're giving me ideas on what to send with you next time, trailmix with M&Ms :)
ReplyDeleteTake good care of yourself, make the most out of this experience-- it is just the beginning. See you in a few weeks, saving my next beer for our next happy hour.
Missing you in the office!
